How To Do Keyword Research
Everyone would eventually develop their own approach to doing keywords research. And you ultimately need to know which one that works for you.  The most important part of keywords research is to forget about you and your business and put yourself in the shoes of your potential customers also know as Brainstorming.



1.   Brainstorming: This process begins by asking you self-key questions. This stage is important from an organization perspective because it will force you to locate different areas of уоur business. Start bу answering whаt services dо уоu offer? Answers should be comprehensive as possible and list out many keywords and phrases as you can. NOTE: Do this with a customers or visitors perspective.


People who work in our businesses day –in and –out might have a different ways of explaining our services. For example, An Electronics store website you might be tempted to write down keywords like most expensive mobile phones and world most expensive washing machine but at the end of the day no one in the world is search for this keyword for purchasing purpose. Well, those things make sense to you but not to your potential customers because they are just searching for keywords like cheap mobile phones well  brainstorming can get you started.  We would take a look at some tools that can find and suggest similar keywords and expand your list of possibilities considerably.

2.       Evaluating Search Volume: Once you get the list of potential keywords then the next thing you would need to do is to take a look at the search volume metrics to see what kinds of a demand or search for those phrases. As you do this you would notice that a handful of keywords gets typed in thousands and thousand times a day.  There are a whole lot more that don’t get typed in nearly as often, this might be a more descriptive keywords with a less common variations. But thе important thіng tо knоw іѕ thаt this is known as Long-Tail Keywords.

  2.1. Long Tail Keywords In SEO: They are incredibly useful, they let us go after much larger amount but less competitive keywords, that tends to be extremely relevance to our business objectives. It’s extremely relevance, less competitive and easier to rank for than expensive raw search volume (i.e.  iPhone Cases). 3.       Categorizing The Keywords: You would want to add some meaning and organization to keywords you have collected. Back to the example of the Black iPhone 3Gs cases, we may want to categorize this keyword that does include different model and brands of the iPhones. Alternatively, we can categorize this not by phone models instead by color. There are no right or wrong ways to do this, only a way that works for you and allows you to manage these groups of keywords as you optimize for them.

Remember in the end that this is an exploratory and discovery excise. Everyone searches differently and you would find lots and lots of data as you dig deeper and deeper. Be open minded putting your mindset on your potential customers and make sure to consider all of your options as you evaluate your keywords performance over time.
